After a strong start to the season, the track team continues to push themselves in every event while building a close team bond along the way. With athletes competing in sprints, hurdles, jumps, and relays, the team has shown dedication both in practice and in meets.
One of the biggest strengths of the team is the connection between teammates and how they motivate each other through tough workouts.
Isabella Glover (12) said, “Usually my teammates motivate me, but I also have an image to uphold, so I just talk myself through it.”
Many athletes also have big personal goals they are working toward this season.
Joshua Jennings (12), who competes in long jump, said, “One of my big goals right now is I want to jump a 23 and I also want to get the school record.”
Others are aiming for success at the state level as well.
Kayen Crosby (12) said, “My biggest goal this season is to not only podium at state again, but to probably win state.”
While goals are important, athletes also value the experience and friendships built throughout the season.
Malik Glenn (12) said his favorite part is “being with a lot of my friends and teammates,” showing how the team’s chemistry carries beyond just competition.
Overall, the track team continues to work hard, support each other, and strive for success as the season goes on.
