Pine Creek’s November choir concert was a big success. Students got the opportunity to showcase their vocal talents, whether they were singing acapella or in a traditional choir. The event incorporated students from all grade levels throughout four separate groups.
First up was the treble choir, which was composed of mostly freshmen. This concert marked the first time any of these students had seen the stage at Pine Creek. Although there were some nerves, these young and upcoming singers kept their composure through their performance.
The Chamber singers performed with the Tenor Bass Choir as well as the Festival Singers. These groups were mostly made up of sophomores who had taken part in the choir program the year before. When asked why she loves choir, Cianna Miller (10) said, “I’ve built so many lifelong relationships in choir. Some of my best friends are in choir.” Miller encourages anybody who can sing and wants to be part of a fun and friendly community to join the choir.
Not only were there traditional choir groups at the concert, but also two acapella groups. The first one to perform was an all girls group called “Nuance”. These ladies engaged the audience by singing popular songs such as “Best Day of My Life” and “ All I Want”. Not only was this performance Nuance’s first of the year, but it also represented a dream coming true for at least one new member of the group, Nandini Kulkarni (11). “8th grade was the first time I’d ever heard the Pine Creek acapella group sing,” she said. “And ever since then, I’ve always wanted to join acapella.” Now that Kulkarni has finally been able to make that dream come true, she hopes that she can inspire the next 8th grade girl in the audience to join Nuance.
Wrapping up the concert was the all male acapella group called “Fusion”. These “harmonizing honchos” gave the audience a show that was both engaging and extremely entertaining, performing classics like “Happy Together” and “I Think They Call This Love”.
Similar to Kulkarni’s story, Isaac Perigo (12) said when he was 4 he watched his brother perform in the group, and wanted to join ever since. When asked why someone should be led to join fusion, Perigo said, “I would say if you like to make music, you just definitely should because it’s a good opportunity.”
“I think that’s the best concert even with all the ones last year,” said Miles Tegar (12), one of the seniors in the group. “I think we had fun and it showed and all the practice that we put in.”
The next choir event will be the Holiday Choir Concert on December 9th, 2025 at 7 pm. Tickets can be purchased at pinecreek.ludus.com.
