A new season of Pine Creek football welcomes new head coach, Trevor Hudson. Hudson has plenty of experience in coaching with 17 years serving in various roles and being a part of three state championship teams in the past five years at previous programs.
Hudson has very high goals for the program’s future, he said, “This season, our goal is simple: compete for a state title. Every day, every rep, every meeting, we are working with that standard in mind. We’re setting the tone for what it means to be a Pine Creek football player.”
Brady Walden (10) said, “I like how he’s bringing a new energy to the team and helping us get recruited. I’ve seen more opportunities in my recruitment and I can’t wait to be coached by him.”
With building a winning culture, comes the bigger picture. Hudson said, “In the long term, I want Pine Creek to be a nationally recognized football powerhouse. I want our program to consistently produce not just top-tier athletes, but outstanding young men, leaders, in the classroom, on the field, and in the community.”
Culture is essential when it comes to successful programs. “We’re building a culture of discipline, hard work, and unity. That starts in the weight room, continues through our offseason conditioning, and shows up in how we carry ourselves every day,” said Hudson. “We’re pushing our players physically and mentally, but also helping them grow as leaders and teammates. Our coaching staff is focused on details, fundamentals, and consistency to make sure we’re prepared for every challenge the season throws at us.”
The change in the culture is being noticed throughout the program. Jase Stabler (11) said, “It’s definitely different, we have to dress nicer and be more respectful to coaches and other people. We’re definitely gonna get better as a team and family and once we get going it’s going to be a big change and good leadership from Coach Hudson.”
When asked about new traditions Hudson said, “One of the biggest things I’ve focused on is building upon the winning culture that already exists here while deepening the relationships within our team and community. We’ve started a mentorship program that pairs upperclassmen with younger players to help them grow both on and off the field. We’ve also made community involvement a core part of our identity, whether it’s volunteering, attending local events, or supporting younger athletes in the area. I’m a players’ coach, and I believe in truly connecting with my guys, earning trust, building respect, and helping them grow as people. That kind of bond creates a stronger team and a stronger legacy.”
Football season is rapidly approaching with the first game on August 22nd at home against Valor Christian.
