The field hockey team is a vibrant group of young athletes, each with their own unique story and goals. The players bring energy, teamwork, and determination to the field every day.
Elle Emmerson (10) started playing field hockey after a friend recommended the sport, and since she’s not currently involved in club soccer, she decided to give it a try. She plays forward. Emmerson is known for her goal-scoring skills and her enthusiasm during practice. She finds training sessions both fun and productive, enjoying drills that help her improve her game. Her toughest match so far was against Cherry Creek, but Emmerson said she is “motivated to get better and build stronger connections with her teammates as the season progresses.”
Bella Ramirez (10) also joined the team, inspired by a friend’s suggestion. She plays forward, Ramirez said she, “uses her speed to chase down the ball and score goals.” The most challenging game she faced was against Cherry Creek, and her main goal is to keep developing her skills throughout the season. Ramirez appreciates the supportive environment during training, especially the drills that help her sharpen her skills. Her team has great chemistry; many teammates have been playing for a while and are eager to help her improve.
Mackenzie Seabaugh (10) began her journey into field hockey last year when she attended the state fair and decided to try the sport. She plays center forward and enjoys scoring goals. During practice, her favorite activities include scrimmages that simulate real game situations. Seabaugh’s team chemistry is excellent, and she dreams of becoming the team captain and making the varsity first team someday. Her dedication to improving her skills keeps her motivated for the season ahead.
Talia Furler (11) was encouraged to join by friends Brooklyn and Brooke. Her goals for the season are to improve her skills and strengthen her relationships with teammates, fostering a positive team environment. She plays forward, relishing the chance to score and be involved in the action. She trains almost daily after school, participating in drills and scrimmages to hone her abilities.
Hailey Robers (11) joined the team after her friends, Elle and Bella, invited her to play. She plays midfield, running across the field to control the ball and set up plays by passing to her teammates. Her training focuses on shooting drills and improving her overall game. The toughest game she’s faced was against Cherry Creek, and she’s eager to get better at hitting the ball and communicating with her team. Hailey feels that the team’s chemistry is strong, which helps them work effectively together on the field.
The team’s diversity of experience and shared passion for field hockey make for an exciting season. With goals ranging from improving individual skills to strengthening team bonds, these athletes exemplify dedication and sportsmanship. As they continue to grow and compete, they inspire us all with their teamwork and perseverance.
